House Earmarks to Be Included in the Surface Transportation Bill

The House Democrats attached 1,473 earmark requests to surface transportation reauthorization legislation.  The earmarks will be included in the $547 billion highway bill to be considered on Wednesday by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.  It will include 1,067 earmark projects from Democrats, 403 from Republicans, and three bipartisan projects.  Chair DeFazio said the money will “give viable projects the funding they need to get across the finish line.”
