Labor Withdraws Court Petition to Expand OSHA’s COVID-19 Emergency Healthcare Standard
On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, the AFL-CIO and United Food and Commercial Workers joined with the Department of Labor in withdrawing a federal court petition that sought to expand OSHA’s COVID-19 emergency temporary standard for health-care workers to cover other industries where employees are vulnerable to COVID-19 infections. In a separate case, the D.C. Circuit on August 26th decided not to revive OSHA’s health-care temporary standard. OSHA had stopped enforcing most of the temporary standard’s provisions in December.
