2023 ASA Fall Attorneys’ Council Meeting

This year, our Attorneys’ Council Chair Chip Bachara hosted the ASA Attorneys’ Council fall meeting at the Ponte Vedra Resort in Jacksonville, Florida. And while we tackled a number of substantive issues in our daily meetings, the weather and activities couldn’t have gone more smoothly. We even got a surprise appearance of the Navy’s Blue Angels flying low across our shoreline during practice on Friday! Our group raised over $5,000 for the SLDF with a tour of historic Saint Augustine following the conclusion of our sessions. Meeting topics covered this weekend include upcoming state-by-state resource document updates on Lien and Bond and Prompt Payment issues, the impact of the Corporate Transparency Act, increasing Council involvement in ASA conferences and meetings, and education and focus on the importance of the SLDF. Also discussed were future topics for ASA webinars and podcasts, so be on the lookout for these great resources for our subcontractor community!
