This Week in Congress
The House and the Senate were in session this week with the Senate taking confirmation votes. The House debated legislation that would limit the Energy Department’s ability to release petroleum from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Also, the chamber voted on legislation that would require the Federal Aviation Administration to establish a task force to examine the Notice to Air Missions system, which conveys essential information to flight operation personnel; allow the federal government to use skills-based assessments to evaluate competitive service candidates; and permit certain financial institutions to invest in more capital in small business investment companies.
